With four mini golf courses in a four-mile stretch, and more just a few miles down the road, Lake George has been nicknamed the mini golf capital of New York State. While we can’t confirm the title, there’s no denying the area is known for having some of the best putt-putt courses in the Adirondacks. If you’re looking for a little friendly competition, here are our family’s favorite mini golf courses within a short drive or Trolley ride of Adirondack Sunrise Lodge.
Around the World Mini Golf Course
Located on Beach Road, across the street from the Lake George Steamboats, Around the World Mini Golf is an award-winning course that was built in 1963. Recognized by The Travel Channel, Fodor’s Travel and Travel + Leisure, Around the World is a Lake George tradition for generations of families. It features two 18-hole courses, one that takes you across the U.S. and another that takes you around the world.
Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf of Lake George
If you’re looking for a bit of swashbuckling fun, Pirates Cove Adventure Golf does not disappoint. Just south of Lake George Village on Route 9, the award-winning, 18-hole course transports golfers back in time to the world of 18th century buccaneers. Make your way through mountain caves, across footbridges, beneath cascading waterfalls, and passed sunken pirate ships.
Goony Golf
Celebrating more than 50 years of family fun, Goony Golf is located south of Lake George Village at the corner of Route 9 and 9N. Putt your way through Sir Goony’s Castle, a Pirate Ship and more, complete with waterfalls and a mechanized windmill just waiting to block your shot. Goony Golf even offers coupons for up to $3 off admission on their website.
Lumberjack Pass Miniature Golf
Lake George’s newest and largest mini golf course, Lumberjack Pass stretches over an acre and features 18 challenging championship holes. Golfers enjoy waterfalls, real sand traps and hand-carved wooden lumberjacks, as well as a free soft serve ice cream cone with each paid admission. The course is located on Route 9, south of Lake George Village and just north of the Lake George Factory Outlets.
The Fun Spot
This mining themed mini golf course features caves, waterfalls, a wobbly bridge, a Gold Rush ore cart and even a water tower. Feed the fish in the Koi Pond and return your golf ball to the clubhouse for a chance to win free admission to another Fun Spot attraction, including go-karts, laser tag and roller skating. The Fun Spot is located south of Lake George Village on Route 9 in Queensbury NY.
